My family bought their first video camera in 1989. My uncle bought me my first mac when I was 11. He taught me how to shoot and edit videos with an old film camera. My mom helped me win a video competition when I was 13, resulting in my first ever trip to Disneyland.
From everyday life to events and birthdays, the Vitales have always had a camera ready. In honor of my grandmom's 70th birthday, I compiled years of video set to one of her favorite songs, "Dancing Queen", and into a montage of happy birthdays.
And I've barely scratched the surface of the multitude of video my family has. Eventually, once I have all the film converted to digital, I want to compile a series of videos focusing on each member of my family, allowing each of them to tell their own narratives as they remember it.
